I wanted to like this place but this wasn't advertised on Agoda and on Googlemaps as an Airbnb and I thought it was more of a hotel. I didn't realize it was an Airbnb until they send me codes to the front door and the room. The good- very quiet and they provide umbrellasBathtub for a nice bath after a long day walking around KyotoBig room if you get the 40 m2 room. The bad - communication is zero so be aware if you have issues, you will get zero help. They told me that I could get a late checkout as long as I email them back by 9 pm the day before checking out. I emailed them on the day I checked in and I didn't hear back from them until 930pm the night before checking out. And it wasn't even a human that wrote the email, it was an automated message stating that " late checkout" wasn't requested. I got really confused and I emailed them back and until now, still zero response from them. So this place is maybe perfect for one or maximum two nights but not for a long time. And you are on your own, if you have issues, don't expect an answer or any help. The place was not clean properly. I found hair here and there and their sheets made me have rashes. It could be their detergent that they used. Towels are small and thin and the couches were dirty. Also you need to sort your trash before leaving. So if you don't mind that then go ahead and stay here. The fridge was really noisy so super hard to fall asleep and make sure you turn it down to a 1 for the fridge or else everything inside would freeze.Overall if you like Airbnb and stay here for one or two nights then it's fine since the price is cheap but don't expect any help from the owner and luggage locks are a joke , I would not trust these dainty locks near the entrance. We just went to Kyoto station and get us lockers to hold our luggage. I just wish I knew it was not a hotel.
Excellent sized room for 2 people which so rarely happens in japan.Wonderful customer service, I had my simcard posted to the hotel and they helped me with that.Bathroom a good size.Small point- if you struggle sleeping with lots of light then definitely bring a sleep mask. The car park next door has lights 24/7 and there is no curtains, only sliding paper.Good value for money. Would stay again!
We stayed 9 nights in Number 6 as we wanted to use Kyoto as a base for trips to other destinations using the JR pass. ||||We wanted an apartment where we could relax and do some cooking, without being interrupted by cleaning staff. While the room was indeed spacious, bright & clean, there were no cooking facilities, other than a microwave on the ground floor, no cooking utensils, cutlery or dishes - I should have read the details more closely in advance. However, it did have a fridge and we found the local supermarket [Life] just north of Nijo station stocked a fine array of ready meals, sandwiches, wine, gin etc and we managed. The room could have had some comfortable arm chairs, as well as space for storing clothes.||||Having said that we really enjoyed our stay in Number 6. Starting from check in where we were allowed to check in a little early; we had the entry codes and were able to access the room before normal check in. You have to show your passport at the hotel around the corner - that looked like a nice place. There are no staff in the building itself, but I received speedy replies to my emails and they were able to point me to a good chiropractor around the corner when my back gave me trouble. There are helpful local maps on the ground floor.||||The room itself is really spacious, bright & clean. The wifi was excellent quality. The shower in the bathroom is wonderful, easy to operate, and strong. There are some really useful toiletries. There is a washing machine at ground level - which is a bit dodgy, but was fixed immediately I reported it.||||The location is perfect - 5 minutes walk from Nijo station, from Nijo Castle. We found the Tyrol cafe across the road wonderful and really good value for breakfast, & lunch - egg sandwiches, coffee, fish etc. A real find, with great staff and an English language menu. We dropped in to the yakatori bar on the way to the station several times and had good beer and food, again at reasonable rates.||||We had the JR pass so we did day trips to Nara, Hiroshima, Arashiyama and Fukuchiyama and spent the rest of the time exploring different neighbourhoods in Kyoto. The highlight was the river ride from Kameoka to Arashiyam through a gorge, with rapids. Great experience.||||One piece of advice if using a taxi to arrive at Number 6 - try to get an English speaking driver or one who can read maps. We had printed out the map of the location and knew where Number 6 was - but our taxi driver was hopelessly confused and we ended up getting out of the taxi and walking the remainder of the journey!||||I'd recommend Number 6 as a great place to explore Kyoto and surroundings.

We stayed here for a few days and absolutely loved it. Location was great and the area is really quiet. We will definitely be coming back here when we visit Kyoto again 😊
