An incredible experience in every respect. It’s in the far back corner of an unassuming tiny alley, but is genuinely the best meal I had during our entire trip. We ordered salmon, tuna, shrimp, and eel nigiri, as well as two hand-rolls. The sushi was fresh, well-prepared, tasted absolutely delicious, and I think was fairly priced for the quality. The seating is shoes-off and cozy, and the whole restaurant feels very homey. The chef is amazing and very kind; he made an effort to talk to and get to know my girlfriend and I despite us knowing basically no Japanese. All in all a wonderful experience, astounding food in an intimate environment. Definitely a hidden gem, would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a good meal in the Gion district.(forgot to take pictures of the rest of our sushi because we were too busy enjoying it and talking with the chef)

WOW! What an incredible, delicious, and personable experience. I highly recommend this place to everyone in Kyoto.We had the opportunity to speak with the very friendly owners and have nigiri made in front us. The owner has 45 years of experience! It’s also a very affordable restaurant.It’s a bit hard to find, the only sign is in Japanese. It’s at the end of an alleyway, tucked in the corner on the right but well worth it. There is no sign in English.
