本堂は境内中央に位置し、静けさを感じられます。
小さいですが無料🈚の駐車場🅿🚙がありました。この日は時間が無く、本堂の中には入れませんてしたか、参道は広く綺麗でした😌
「阿弥陀如来（中央）」重要文化財 平安時代秘仏御本尊 洛陽六阿弥陀めぐり 第一番来迎印を示す最古の阿弥陀如来立像平安時代の比叡山の高僧・慈覚大師円仁の作。一木造で、九品来迎印の阿弥陀如来立像の中では最も古いとされています。不動明王と千手観音を脇士に従えており、その御厨子は年に1日だけ開帳（一般公開）されます.女性を救う「うなずきの弥陀」最澄に師事していた慈覚大師円仁が苗鹿大明神で見つけた霊木で阿弥陀如来像をつくり、比叡山修行僧の本尊として白毫（びゃくごう）を入れて完成させようとしたところ、如来は首を振って拒否しました。「では京に出てすべての人々、特に女性をお救いください」と頼むと如来は三度うなずいたという伝説から、「うなずきの弥陀」と呼ばれています。阿弥陀如来像はその後しばらく比叡山常行堂にまつられていましたが、「急いで京に下山させるべし」という戒算上人の夢枕へのお告げを受けて、女人禁制の比叡山から東三条院の離宮に遷座されて真如堂開山へと至りました。「不動明王（左）」平安時代晴明の命を救った念持仏陰陽師・安倍晴明が不慮の死に遭った時、家にまつっていた不動明王像が閻魔大王に直談判し蘇生させたと『真如堂縁起』に記されています。晴明逝去後に当寺に納められました。「千手観音（右）」平安時代伝教大師最澄作と伝わる観音様千手観音には延命・病気平癒・夫婦円満・恋愛成就などの現世利益があり、多くの手であらゆる人々を救済してくれます。六道輪廻の思想に基づく六観音の一体です。御開帳について毎年11月15日に御本尊が鎮座する御厨子を開帳します。拝観料はいります。洛陽六阿弥陀めぐりとは月ごとに決められた功徳日に、１番：真如堂→２番：永観堂→３番：清水寺→４番：安祥院→５番：安養寺→６番：誓願寺の順に3年3ヶ月間参り続けると、無病息災、家運隆盛、祈願成就のご利益があるとされています。功徳日は、1月15日、２月8日、3月14日、4月15日、5月18日、6月19日、7月14日、8月15日、9月18日、10月8日、11月24日、12月24日、春秋彼岸。（以上真如堂HPより）"Amida Nyorai (center)"Important cultural property Heian periodHidden Buddha Gohonzon Rakuyo Six Amida Tours Part 1The oldest standing statue of Amida Nyorai showing the seal of arrivalWritten by Jikaku Daishi Ennin, a high priest of Mt. 令和二年 京都初秋の旅 10月3日真如堂 本堂度々の戦火で焼失し、享保2年（1717年）に再建。7間4面総欅、どっしりとした本瓦葺の入母屋造。内陣は金箔の天蓋や瓔珞（ようらく）で厳かに飾られています。１６９３年（元禄６年）から１７１７年（享保２年）にかけての建立になります。「真如堂」の額は１７２６年（享保１１年）、宝鏡寺宮からの寄進されたものです。徳川五代将軍綱吉と桂昌院によって寄進された宮殿の中には、本尊阿弥陀如来、安倍晴明の念持仏といわれる不動明王、千手観音が祀られている。こちらで御朱印を拝受できます(^^)
2022年観経曼荼羅特別拝観が行われており、ゆっくりと拝観させていただきました。１2月8日まで公開しています。(期間中拝観料1,000 円）毎年11月15日に御本尊が鎮座する御厨子を開帳される特別拝観があるそうです。その時期に合わせて京都行ければいいのですが、そうもいかず。京都生活されている方が羨ましいばかりです。紅葉がとてもきれいでした。今回の京都紅葉巡りの中では１.２を争うくらいにきれいな紅葉でした。
紅葉🍁がちょうど見頃です。あまり観光客もいなかったので、ゆっくり散策出来ました。
境内を赤く染める紅葉🍁は見事です。特に三重塔の周囲は素敵な構図。観光客も少なく、ゆったり紅葉を楽しめます。
真正極楽寺の本堂は境内の中央に西面して建っています。江戸時代中期の建立だそうで、単層、入母屋造り、本瓦葺。京都市内の天台寺院の本堂としては最大級だそうです。御本尊は円仁作の阿弥陀如来像だそうです。

周辺のオススメ
本堂は度々戦火によって焼失し、享保２年(１７１７年)に再建されたものが現在に残っています。内部は自由に拝観できる外陣、天蓋や瓔珞で飾られた祈祷や修業の場である内陣、御本尊の阿弥陀如来が祀られた須弥壇がある内内陣に分かれています。
