石碑：得長寿院跡得長寿院は鳥羽上皇(1103～56)御願寺の一つ。平忠盛(1096～1153)が造営した観音堂には十一面観音や等身聖観音千体が安置されており，現存する蓮華王院(三十三間堂)と同規模の建築であったといわれる。この石標は得長寿院観音堂跡を示すものである。建立年 1975年建立者 京都市寸 法 高91×幅23×奥行23cm碑 文[南] 得長寿院跡[北] 昭和五十年建立京都市平忠盛は宋との貿易で得た巨万の富を得ます。後白河上皇の父・鳥羽上皇は平清盛の父の平忠盛の寄進により、鴨東白河に聖観音を祀る得長寿院千体堂（文治地震で倒壊したとされる）を建てます。後白河上皇は平清盛の寄進によ三十三間堂（蓮華王院）を建てます。こり2人の上皇がいずれも平氏の棟梁の寄進により寺院を造営していることは、平氏隆盛の一因となります。Stone monument: Tokuchojuin temple ruinsTokuchojuin was one of the temples of Emperor Toba (1103-1156). The Kannon Hall, built by Taira Tadamori (1096-1153), houses eleven-headed Kannon and a thousand life-size statues of the Holy Bodhisattva, and is said to have been a building of the same scale as the existing Rengeoin (Sanjusangendo). Emperor Toba, the father of Emperor Goshirakawa, built the Tokuchojuin Sentaido (which is said to have collapsed in the Bunji earthquake) in Kamohigashi Shirakawa, which enshrines the Shokannon Bodhisattva, with a donation from Taira Tadamori, the father of Taira Kiyomori. Emperor Goshirakawa built the Sanjusangendo (Rengeoin) with a donation from Taira Kiyomori. The fact that both of these retired emperors built temples with donations from Taira master builders was one of the reasons for the rise of the Taira clan.
