Visiting this wine bar made me feel inspired to appreciate quirky little passions. The owner had a story for every detail, from the door signs, to the wineries he visited, to the hand-picked wines, the decoration indoors. It’s such an enlightening experience to enjoy different Japanese wines that I dangerously drank away as if it’s water, while having the white noise of the trains passing by. I tried two wines and both were outstanding! I’d recommend every Nikko tourist to stop by, try a high-quality Japanese wine, and experience a Japanese man sharing his passions.
What is best in life? Cats, wine, trains! If you like any of those, this is the perfect place. We really enjoyed our visit here. The bar is beautifully designed, with great attention to detail in every aspect, from the choice of wines themselves (fantastic) to the design of the glasses and the signs. Watching the trains go round is almost hypnotic. There is a lengthy and detailed wine menu (available in English) that describes the wines and the wineries, all from small Japanese vineyards; but we were not overwhelmed by choices because the owner was happy to provide recommendations. He was so friendly and welcoming, and made this the best experience of our stay in Nikko.
You can’t visit Nikko without visiting this place too. In full transparency, I didn’t expect much of Japanese wine because I’m not a huge fan of sake, and somehow expected not to like Japanese wine. The three wines we were served however were just as delicate and lovely as the wines we are used to back home, and our visit here at this local wine bar has absolutely changed my perspective on Japanese wine. The owner of the bar is so friendly, kind, and welcomes you with open arms into Nikko and his story of how he ended up here - please read through the book (i.e. the additional pages of the menu) with cute stories and introductions to the owner, the wine bar itself, and the wines. I warmly recommend this place and hope you’ll enjoy it too. Also, it’s almost meditative to sit and look at the model trains while sipping a glass of good wine after a long day at the many temples.
2024年1月にうかがった時の写真です美味しくて安全なワインのお話や見事な鉄道模型を拝見して贅沢な時間を過ごせました お食事はメニューにあったかどうかわかりません。
素敵なバーです。一日中日光を走り回った後でワインを持っている猫な看板の見て気になりました。入ったら目の前に鉄道模型があって親切な持ち主に迎えられました。その夜は僕と持ち主しかいませんでした。持ち主と一緒に日本語で喋りましたが、その夜こそ疲れて日本語がろくに出てこなかったです。しかし、いい雰囲気で落ち着けました。持ち主はいろいろ情熱を話した。ワインとか列車とかに情熱を持っていて、すごいと思います。いつか、日光に戻ったらまた訪れます！
日本ワイン専門店。日本のワイン？期待できないなぁと思っている方、新しい発見があるかもしれません。立派なジオラマにNゲージが走ってます。眺めながら飲むワインは美味しい。なお、食べ物は軽めのおつまみくらいです。
Visited here late in December of 2023.We had a lovely evening, trying Japanese wine, all chosen by the owner on his grand adventure. I was very happy to find one from Ibaraki Tsukuba (Bee's Knees' Vinyard), where i had stayed my first time in Japan.It was mesmerizing to watch the little trains go around there stops. and chatting to the owner we found out the artist who had done the logo's and graphics for the bar which are very cute.Looking forward to stopping past on my next visit very much.Food is limited here with a few bar snacks. But as it's just off the main road between the station and Toshogu you wont need to worry.2023年12月下旬に訪問。 オーナー自らがツアーで選んだ日本ワインを味わいながら、素敵な夜を過ごしました。初めて日本に滞在した茨城県つくば市（Bee's Knees' Vinyard）のワインを見つけてとても嬉しかったです。次回の訪問時に過去に立ち寄るのをとても楽しみにしています。

Visited in April this year and had such a lovely experience! We were looking for a place to relax a bit before taking the Spacia X back to Tokyo and wished we could’ve stayed longer! The sheer amount of Japanese wine selection is incredible. The owner was so kind and using my limited Japanese and google translate we were able to communicate some. He gave us some cafes and restaurants to try back in Tokyo too! The bar itself is so relaxing with the sound of the trains passing. With that and the low light you can really appreciate the tastes of the different wines. Also please get the salami! It went so well with the wine.
