日本らしい優しいおでんや最高のラーメンが楽しめます。

Mondo’s a cosy container bar/izakaya centrally located in Hirafu. The owner, Sean, runs a one-man outfit and successfully manages to cook delicious food and prepare drinks as well. Definitely order the oden and gyoza - both are amazing! He has a great selection of Japanese sake and whiskies as well. I turned up without a reservation and he was kind enough to sit me despite having a full house an hour later. Reservations via their IG page is recommended. Sean speaks fantastic English as well which is extremely helpful, and makes all his customers feel very welcomed. Would definitely recommend anyone in Hirafu to grab drinks and dinner at Mondo!

ニセコで最高のBar！おしゃれな店内で日本酒やジャパニーズウィスキーを楽しみながら、おでんやラーメンまで楽しめるお店はなかなかないニセコに行った時は必ず寄ります！

Like a lot of the reviews we were drawn to Mondo because of the strong recommendation for atmosphere and unique experience, with the mindset for finding an Izakaya with an authentic feel in Niseko.First - The food we found to be very tasty, but definitely best eaten as share plates like Tapas. While still great, they were hardly the best part of this restaurantSecond - The drinks (specifically the sake) were incredible, being someone who only had a handful of good experiences with sake I wasn’t expecting a lot. But Sean’s recommendations delivered a pleasant surprise, each one picked for our preferences and they had us asking for more.Saving the best for last - The way Sean built the atmosphere of the restaurant. It’s casual, welcoming, and intimate. There may be limited seating (I recommend booking in advance for groups bigger than 3) but everyone who comes in the door is invited to join the laughs and conversations.If you’re looking for a unique experience outside the regular Niseko dining, you do not want to miss this hidden gem.
