京都の小道で出会った、思わず訪れた絵本の宝箱です。
I stumbled upon Picture Book Store Fuku whilst aimlessly wandering around the back streets of Kyoto waiting for a nearby cocktail bar to open.Whilst perusing the shop from outside, the kindly owner noticed me and ushered me inside to take a look at the books on offer. I picked one up entitled “Once upon a time in Japan”. The first folk tale I opened to had quirky English and interesting artwork and after having a chuckle to myself I decided it would make a fine addition to my coffee table back in Singapore.I was surprised at the low cost of the book, considering the good quality, and I suspect they do a solid tourist trade here as a result. Previous customers in the shop before me were locals so I’m guessing there is also good local patronage too!Would absolutely come back here again to peruse the books for kids and adults alike.
