This was a small but beautiful space - one of my favourite memories of Kyoto. The owner was lovely and very engaging. We had a lovely conversation with him without him being overbearing. The wine and sake was fantastic and very reasonably priced. I will definitely return next time I am in Kyoto.
Wonderful local bar with multiple wine and sake choices! The owners were kind enough to teach us some Japanese while making us feel very welcome. Would highly recommend!
Like a lot of cozy spots in Kyoto, but this felt a bit more intimate and attentive. Thank you, Shinzi Matsumoto, for being a gracious and friendly host for us travelers and wanderers, and wayfarers.
Very nice bar and a great host! Had a really nice time here, with a good selection of wines and whisky. Had a blast talking to the host, a great person who has two cute cats.
We had a lovely time at this small and super lovely wine bar, just a couple streets down from a super busy part of Kyoto. The owner was very friendly and sweet, and gave us some recommendations. I’d highly recommend the Highball.This place has some adorable cat-themed decor and can seat about 8 people, so it’s a very private and interactive experience.I’d definitely recommend this if you’re looking meet different types of people and have a fun and chill evening full of amazing wine and whiskey :)

ミードを飲み比べしました。接客も説明も丁寧で気持ちよく過ごせました。食事は食べてないので評価が分かりませんが、優しいお出汁の香りがしてほっとしました。
this is a FANTASTIC 6 seat bar serving up some of the best wine I’ve had in Japan. The owner was super welcoming and kind despite the fact that I didn’t speak much japanese and he didn’t speak much english. I would absolutely go out of my way to come here. The wine, the vibes, the cat decorations everywhere — it’s perfect!Note: It’s a little hard to find, but look for the white staircase and the sign leading up to the second floor!

My wife and I had an incredible experience here. The wine bar had a great selection, including Japanese wines that we were looking to try while in Japan.What truly made the evening special, however, was the owner, Midori. Midori is exceptionally kind, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about wine. She took the time to share recommendations, explain the wines in an approachable way, and made us feel like honored guests rather than customers. Her passion for wine and genuine hospitality created an atmosphere that was both relaxed and memorable.If you're in Kyoto and appreciate great wine, this place is an absolute must-visit. We came for the wine but will remember the experience because of Midori. Thank you for a wonderful evening—we can't wait to return on our next trip to Japan.
