大谷句佛の句碑「勿體（もたい）なや 祖師ハかみ古（紙衣）乃 九十年」句佛。大谷句佛も聞いたことがなかったのですが、浄土真宗の僧かつ俳人で、東本願寺２３世だそうです。句佛の号は、「句をもって、仏事をなす」の意だそうです。句佛は、子規や虚子、碧梧桐の薫陶を受けて俳人としても大きな業績を残した方だそうです。その所縁で句碑が並べられていると言うことだと思います。大谷光演大谷 光演（おおたに こうえん、1875年（明治8年）2月27日 - 1943年（昭和18年）2月6日）は、明治から大正時代にかけての浄土真宗の僧、俳人、画家。法名は「彰如」（しょうにょ）。俳号は「句仏」。別号に愚峰。東本願寺第二十三代法主[1]。真宗大谷派管長。伯爵。妻は、三条実美の三女・章子。長男は大谷光暢。Kubutsu's haiku monument"What a waste, my master, for ninety years I have worn his old paper garments" Kubutsu.I had never heard of Kubutsu before, but he is a Jodo Shinshu monk and haiku poet, and the 23rd head priest of Higashi Honganji. He was the head priest of the Otani school of the Shinshu sect of Buddhism. He was a count. His wife was the third daughter of Sanjo Sanetomi, Akiko. His eldest son was Otani Mitsunobu.
