I experienced calligraphy with Kanoko, who is full of passion, and it was very fun! She explained everything you need to know about. It is a good way to enjoy Japanese calligraphy here in Nagoya.
I was taken by a foreign friend and we went to experience Japanese calligraphy together! This was a calligraphy class for foreign tourists and foreign residents of Japan, where you can learn the spirit and culture of calligraphy through the Japanese calligraphy experience. The owner is very kind and enthusiastic, and he carefully explains each and every tool necessary for calligraphy and teaches you how to use them, so even if you don't know anything, it's no problem. The classroom was very clean and had a traditional Japanese design, and it was a space where you could feel the harmony of Japan. When the teacher said at the beginning of the lesson, "Let's compare how much you have improved at the beginning and the end," I wondered if I could change in such a short time, but I was surprised when it was over. I had written very beautiful characters, completely different from the first piece I wrote!The teacher also taught me that calligraphy has the effect of connecting the mind and body, just like self-talk with oneself through calligraphy, and yoga and meditation. I didn't expect to be able to touch calligraphy so deeply in a two and a half hour experience. It was a great experience. I highly recommend it to everyone!外国籍の友人に連れられて、一緒に日本の書道体験をしてきました!ここは、外国人観光客や、外国籍の日本在住者向けに、日本の書道体験を通して、書道精神、文化が学べる書道教室でした。オーナーの先生はとても優しく、熱心な方で、書道に必要な道具を丁寧に一つ一つ説明してくださり、使い方も教えてくれるので、何もわからない状態でも問題ないです。教室はとても清潔で、日本の伝統的な作りになっており、とても日本の和を、感じられる空間でした。先生がレッスンの初めに「最初と終わりでどれくらい上達しているか比べてみましょう」と仰った際に、私はこの短時間で、変化させられるのだろうかと疑問に思いましたが、終わってびっくり。最初に書いた一枚目とは、全然違ってとても綺麗な字が書けていました!また、先生は書道を通して自身とのセルフトーク、まさしくヨガやメディテーションなどのように、心と身体を繋ぐ作用が書道にはあることを教えてくれました。2時間半の体験でこれほどまで書道に深く触れられるとは思っていませんでした。とてもいい経験でした。みなさんに強くお勧めします!
I experienced real calligraphy today for the first time and enjoyed it very much. The location is great. The classroom itself is very clean and it has a bit of “traditional Japanese” feeling to it.The teacher is very very nice and accommodating. I could feel her passion for this art in the way she was talking to us. I was very surprised when I compared my first try to the final result.All in all - very happy about this experience.Also we received a free drink, snacks and could take home our works~Thank you ♥️🙂↕️I hope we can meet again!

I really spend a great time doing calligraphy, with a really good material ✨️You have some time to practice and have good advice and explanations to have a splendid final result ☺️I also do a cooking class here. We make Miso soup and Onigiri. Here again, the explanation was really good, and she take into account if you can't eat something, or don't like something so everyone can make something they can eat! And It was sooo good ☺️It's okay if you can't speak Japanese, English is okay!Thank you so much for this great time 🥰

The shodo calligraphy is more difficult than I thought, I had to do several tests 😅I was surprised to have to make my own ink, but that was very interesting, and also to hear the sound and the smell 😉The space where you work is very comfortable and the place is easy to get to 😃Kano is super friendly, very patient and she explained everything to me very well. She is good, she is really into calligraphy 🤗I could also see her works, I like the interpretation she makes of the kanji, adding color to it, I find it very original and contemporary 😍She also offered me a yuzu tea (that I didn't know) which I found very good, and also some typical Japanese sweets 😋Thanks Kano, it was a perfect morning 👏I highly recommend this activity, it's great 👌
