We arrived without reservation due to unexpected bad weather. Half an hour drive to Koyasan and close to a train station, oppossite a Lawson convenience store. The landlady does not speak any English but with Google Translate we could understand each other more or less. But maybe that's how we had a misunderstanding about the price. I asked for room price, but once we had the luggage inside, it turned out the price mentioned was per person (JPY 4950). We had a room upstairs, big enough for a Japanese table and two beds. The closet contained enough futons to pile up 3 per person. On the 2nd floor there are 3 toilets (there are at least 5 or 6 rooms), downstairs two bathrooms with each multiple showers. Good water pressure, quickly warm. The tatami in the room seems brand new, but the carpet in the hallway is in the need of replacement. The lady helped to make up the beds and gave us two cups for tea. Private parking space for 2 cars. Good enough for one night. Cash payment. Not sure whether the airconditioning or ventilator works, they looked a bit old, we slept with the windows open.
