曹源寺の枝垂れ桜、初めて訪れました。澄んだ青空に映える薄桃色の花がとても綺麗でした。
丁度雨が降り始め風情がありました。池の鯉も跳ね元気に泳いでいました。
Sogenchi, located in the premise of Sogenji temple, is right next to the temple buildings where its monks make foods for them and guests spend with the chief priest with tea.This pond and its structure were, I heard, designed by Nagatada Tsuda who served for the shogun of Ikeda and also designed Korakuen, Shizutani school, and other historically famous places in Okayama.As you see at Sumo tournament in Japan, the winner of sumo wrestlers writes the word "心" (heart) after the match by hand. That means, the word "心" is important for Japanese historically, and the shape of this pond is also the word "心".In April beautiful and eye-popping cherry blossoms are there, and many camera pros and amateurs visit here. Of course, you must see autumn leaves in November.Note that entrance fee is I believe 100 yen (mandatory but looks like it is donation box) at the entrance.
