Warm hospitality, cool aircon. Kazemachi Shimoda was the perfect affordable stay to offset the expensive reason for our visit (diving). Tsuru and his wife were kind and generous hosts.We stayed in the Japanese-style private room for 2 with a private toilet, This was our first time on tatami mats and futons, and we were happy to find that they were very comfortable!Kazemachi is situated right on the river, with stunning views of the water, as well as the mountain ranges surrounding Shimoda. You can view it all from your room—at least if you’re lucky enough to get the room we had! No worries if not, as you can head to the roof for panoramic views.There is a cafe for non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks on site, a shared kitchen for guests to use, fridges on each floor, shared bathrooms are equipped with shampoo, conditioner and body wash, and washing machines and dryers (100 yen per loan).The accommodation is short and flat 5-minute walk from the train station, 3 minutes to a 24/7 Lawson Konbini, and 2 minutes from a super market and Daiso.We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Amazing place to stay - Tsuru-san is a really friendly and energetic owner, the rooms are a good size and the shared facilities are warmed greatly by the community vibes. It's also a really good location to explore Shimoda area!
Nice place both for working and living. Kazemachi has on the groud floor a large co-working area with soft music and people talking, some co-working rooms at the second floor, and some individual rooms. There are both locals and visitors coming in. The hostel area is perfect, close to the city with a river front view, calm at nights and a large kitchen; everything for an very affordable price! Recommend!
とっても居心地の良い場所でした！特に共用のリビングは明るくて綺麗だし、オープンマインドのゲストやスタッフが多かったので、たくさん交流できました。素敵な思い出をありがとうございました🙏
「ただいま！」と言いたくなる場所です。滞在している人はみなさん素敵な人たちばかり。スペースがありかつ芯のある方が多くていろんな出会いがあります。またElenaさんもつるさんも本当に優しくて最高！！
また帰りたくなる素敵な空間です！！
2泊3日で利用させていただきました。2回目の利用でしたが、着いた瞬間「おかえり！」と言ってもらえて心が温かくなりました。また帰りたくなる場所！周辺のご飯屋さんも充実してました！
私は移住者ですが、風まちのおかげで町に馴染ました！立ち寄りやすく、子連れで少し遊ばせたり、カフェを利用したり、人に出逢えたりと、多機能な場所です😊
Friendly host, connection with local community, warm atmosphere, a room with hangers and table, nice view, coworking with a decent chair, ping pong table, good access with town. I was very happy here! I highly recommend this coliving!
