I randomly spotted this weir from the train on my last trip to Japan a few years ago.I'm back to visit family with my wife, and had a quiet day in the area, so decided to go and check it out.I headed east from Okayama Station along Momotaro-Odori St (The street with the tramlines) til I met the Asahi river by Ishiyama Park, then headed north til I got to the weir. It's a beautiful walk along this section of the river. About 3km from the Train Station. There's a quiet road on higher ground with nice views, and also a path at river level for a large part of the way.It also takes you under the Shinkansen Line bridge, so you'll be treated to seeing some of these impressive trains going overhead as you make your way north.Once at the weir, there's no actual path to get to the weir from this side, but if you are feeling adventurous, it's not a difficult climb down the grass bank to get to it. If not, you can see it from the road.Nice to spend a bit of time relaxing, and watching the fast flowing water.Note: if you don't want to walk as far as I did, you could probably catch a train to either Nishigawara Station (East Side of River) or Hōkaiin Station (West Side of river)Or catch a tram for the first part of the journey til you get to Shiroshita Station nearer the river.

ランニング中に水量が少なく、特徴的な石が並んでいて気になって行ってみました。ここから北を向くと旭川と山が見えて、自然に癒されます。南は新幹線や山陽本線も通って、街の賑わいが感じられました。
