This place is unforgettable. I loved the isolation and the starry sky at night. I've been to Japan tens of times and been to some uncommon places, but this place stands out above the rest.
Stayed here for 7 nights in February 2025 with 2 friends!-such a lovely, helpful host Yasu!-Wonderful quiet area, in the middle of nature, river and waterfalls close-In winter its a little cold despite the heating AC so pack warm stuff-bus goes 4 times a day only weekdays to susami city for groceries or seaside walk-a very quiet „town“ with so many empty houses cause young people moved to the city but a lot of nature to explore-fireplace, 3 bikes, hammock, telescope, grill, traditional style
Nous y avons passé 1 semaine il y a 7 ans en Novembre 2017, et c'est l'habitation qui m'a le plus marqué de nos 3 semaines au Japon. L'endroit est charmant, paisible, et authentique. Les propriétaires sont incroyablement gentils, ils sont venus nous chercher et nous reconduire à la gare de susami, nous ont offert de l'umeshū fait maison et quand nous avons oublié notre appareil photo à la gare de Susami, ils sont allés le récupérer et nous l'ont renvoyé en France. Je retombe sur cet endroit et le séjour était tellement agréable que je n'hésite pas à laisser un avis et un commentaire 7 ans après. Si je le pouvais j'y retournerai.
Very nice place to relax up in the mountains.A river flows nearby and the house has all the amnesties.The couple gave us some home made plum wine and umeboshi which was extremely delicious.The house is managed by an old Japanese couple who can speak some English and were really friendly, also a remote host is also there to support.English.Highly recommended for people who love nature.
Airbnbに登録して利用可能になるお宿です。管理されているご夫婦がとても感じが良く、また建物自体も昭和レトロで素敵です。尚、周囲に食料品店などは存在しないので、必ず食料を買い込んでから宿泊利用をして下さい。ガス台・冷蔵庫・電子レンジ・炊飯器など調理に必要なものが全て揃えられていていました。

Lovely home and Ryokan experience. Fujiko and family prepared the house well and clean for us to live in. Amenities were sufficient and the heating was good.The futons we slept on was comfortable and clean. WiFi is provided along with a full kitchen.Right next to the stream where in the summer you can go in for a dip
