ここがイギリス連邦領だと知ったのはそんなに古くない。児童遊園地の地続きに有る。土地勘の無いところをさまよい歩き始めたころ、門が開いてて簡単に入れた。人も見なかった。整備された広大な墓地だ。オーストラリアにも第二次大戦の日本人戦死者の墓地が有りそれが日本領ということらしいが、それと同じような事情だ。大きな森の中で、とても静かだ。記憶では、最近イギリス要人がここを訪問している。首相か王子だったか、思い出せない。

周辺のオススメ
As with all CWGC cemeteries this is immaculately presented. I visited on a wet cold morning in early February so the plants, trees and foliage were at there most dormant but the plum trees were just about to bloom. The purpose of my visit was to pay my respects to three men who died as POW’s in Japan during WW2. These men were originally from the area where I live. As there is only one CWGC cemetery in Japan I managed to fit in a visit whilst staying in Tokyo. The instructions to get here are shown on the CWGC website and were easy to follow and because the Japanese transport system is so efficient the journey was not a problem.
