ウイリアム・アダムスの記念碑の特徴
モニュメント周辺には、静かな雰囲気の中に水鳥が集まり、穏やかな時間を楽しめます。
ここでは、伊東に現存する西洋式帆船の歴史を感じることができます。
This monument is for William Adams, also known as Miura Anjin, the main character in the Emmy Award-winning drama 'Shogun.' He was a real historical figure, and it’s said that he built Japan’s first Western-style ship here in Ito in the early 1600s. The show doesn’t cover the shipbuilding scenes in Ito, but you can still find places around the city that trace his steps.Around the monument, you can always spot ducks and waterfowl, and there’s a peaceful atmosphere. If you follow the river from the monument, pass under the bridge, and head toward the sea, you’ll come across another statue of him created by sculptor Kenji Shigeoka.
After watching Shogun I was pleasantly surprised to come across this Memorial for Anjin-sama (#^.^#)
