A long overdue review from our vacation at this amazing place in June 2025:A beautifully designed stay that blends modern comfort with the quiet charm of a traditional Kyoto townhouse. The space feels serene and thoughtfully put together—natural materials, soft lighting, and clever details that make the house both functional and calming. Service is attentive yet unobtrusive, and the location offers easy access to Kyoto while still feeling tucked away. A memorable and refined place to experience the city.
Parfait !Faire la cuisine et vivre comme un japonais !... et parfois se cogner la tête en franchissant les portes basses...Bref une experience a vivre !
Best stay in Kyoto - this traditional machiya is such a gem! The tranquil back garden, beautifully restored bedroom and the onsen bath tub made it the most unique and zen Kyoto experience.Would def want to come stay again if we are back in Kyoto!

There’s a kitchen, a tranquil tatami room, and the bath is an absolute treat. Bedrooms are simple and serene, with soft morning light filtering through the shoji screens. Breakfast is a must: a traditional vegetarian Buddhist meal delivered to enjoy in the quiet of the tatami room.

Such a beautiful home in Kyoto! So special, since it is a traditional Japanese house, but it feels so modern and cozy.I visit Kyoto often, and I can stay here comfortably for long periods of time. The kitchen is perfect for cooking simple meals, equipped with beautiful Shigaraki plateware.I also love the fresh vegetable markets, super sento and JR station nearby, super convenient.
モダンでかっこいい町屋の一軒貸のお宿。冬に利用しましたが床暖房もあり快適で、お風呂も立派で温泉に来たようなゆっくりリラックスした気分があじわえました。またすぐに利用したいです。
Amazing accommodation to feel right at home in a new city. Maana homes accommodated for my partner and I while we were exploring Kyoto. As a guest of the hotel you have the entire home private to really settle in. The bath was pure bliss to be able to soak in after a long day. The decor is traditional but enhanced enough for modern comfort, heated flooring, plenty of power outlets, comfortable bed, laundry and a well equipped kitchen when we felt like cooking for dinner.Aside from the hotel itself, the communication and recommendations of nearby points of interest personally selected by the owner was greatly appreciated and special. We can't wait to return to Maana when in Kyoto again.
Maana is an amazing place to stay at in Kyoto. The design is modern and it kept a lot of traditional Japanese elements. It really allowed us to embrace our Kyoto experience as a whole. The amenities were great and it was very comfortable. I especially liked their amazing tub! I would love to stay here again!

Quel bonheur de séjourner à Maana Kyoto !L'arrivée s'est déroulée sans problème et tout au long de la semaine, Sergio et toute l'équipe ont répondu présents, avec un service très attentionné.Il s'agit d'une jolie Machiya traditionnelle, rénovée avec goût et dans un design moderne, avec des chambres confortables et tout ce que l'on peut attendre d'une maison authentique japonaise !Le quartier est très central et très calme.Le petit-déjeuner bouddhiste végétarien, livré à 8h - et différent chaque matin - fut un rituel incontournable et un excellent départ pour nos journées de visite dans les Temples.N'hésitez pas pour votre prochain séjour à Kyoto !
