Japanese traditional house.Minimalist, basic amenities.Main issue is light coming in the rooms from early morning. If you like sleeping late (after 8-9am), it’s increasingly difficult.Comfort is minimal, all sitting being wooden without any cushions, it becomes uncomfortable after a while.But for the traditional Japanese experience, staying in this machiya is interesting.Especially location is very good, walking distance from Nishiki market area and all of Gion.Wouldn’t stay there more than 3 nights though.
