3 generations working together! Amazing little tatami maker, with three generations working together: grandfather, father, and son. I got to watch tatami being made by hand and received an explanation about the making of tatami. They also make really cool coasters out of tatami, some of which are branded with different icons (like Japanese crests) with a branding iron. This tatami shop is located just a short walk from Mipple (a multi-story shopping center with lots of parking). It's also really close to the newly established (2020) Fairfield Marriott. This small neighborhood is great for walking around. There are lots of temples in the area, and the neighborhood is a former castle town with a deep history. The shop also has a tatami coaster-making experience that seems like it will resume when COVID has been contained.
