This is a fascinating gallery with an impressive collection of a wide variety of examples of Japanese art and craftsmanship. The owner was a highlight of the shop, he shared an abundance of information about all of the kokeshi dolls and his fascinating collection of samurai artifacts. We visited for the dolls but were captivated by the depth of information the owner shared with us about samurai swords.
A must stop for art lovers, such an awesome place! There’s something for everyone, and the prices are great. Mike was great to talk to, super knowledgeable and taught me a lot.Highly recommend!!!
A loja propriamente dita está um pouquinho escondida em uma rua paralela, mas vale muito a pena a visita.Um estoque de itens japoneses cheios de personalidade, em particular as bonecas kokechi.No nosso modo de ver, mesmo as danificadas valem a pena ser consideradas para compra. Os defeitos apenas acrescentam em personalidade.O dono é extremamente simpático e generoso em compartilhar seus conhecimentos sobre as peças e a história das obras de arte.Compramos duas kokechi e já temos vontade de retornar e comprar mais.The store itself is in a parallel street, a bit hidden, but the visit is so much worth it.It counts with a stock of Japanese items which are full of personality, in particular the kokechi dolls.In our way of viewing things, even the ones that are 'damaged' are worth of buying consideration. The 'defects' only add to their personality.The owner is extremely personable and generous with his knowledge about the art pieces and their history.We ended up buying two kokechi dolls and are already wanting to return to buy more.
Really nice art shop//galery!!! It has real antiques from even the Meiji era. Beautiful store
