捧澤寺の特徴
矢掛町の自然に囲まれた800年の歴史を持つ寺院です。
敷地内は手入れが必要な状態ですが、静かな雰囲気が漂っています。
ハイキング後の訪問にぴったりで、僧侶の修行にも最適です。
It's a challenging but satisfying hike up from Kibimakibi Park toHōtakuji Temple. Although many previous photos show the temple grounds as somewhat well maintained, at least at this time of the year the grounds are very overgrown. The sense of history you feel as you explore this 800-year old temple is extraordinary. The seclusion and sounds of nature you hear leads me to feel that this is the perfect place for monks in training, as I am lead to believe was the purpose of this temple.I would love to return again, and I hope that if I get a chance the grounds will be in a better-maintained condition.

周辺のオススメ
この捧澤寺(ほうたくじ)へは、矢掛町三谷や宇角から車で行くことができます。三谷のフルーツトピアを更に奥へ行きます。総社方面へ行く県道を進むと捧澤寺への分かれ道を右折します。細い道ですが、更に進むと捧澤寺へ到着します。廃寺で荒廃していますが、昔は栄えていたことが、廻りの田の跡や残された遺跡などから想像されます。
