The Chureito Pagoda is already one of the most iconic spots in Japan, but the workshop experience nearby adds a completely different layer to the visit. If you have a bit of extra time while in the area, this workshop is definitely worth considering.What I liked right away was how relaxed and welcoming the environment felt. It’s not overly formal or intimidating, even if you’re not particularly creative. The instructors guide you through the process in a simple, easy-to-follow way, so you don’t feel lost at any point. There’s no pressure to “get it right,” which makes it much more enjoyable.Depending on what you choose, the workshop could involve painting, crafting, or creating something inspired by the pagoda and the surrounding scenery. What makes it special is the context. You’re not just making something random. You’re creating something connected to a place you’re actually experiencing. That connection makes it feel more meaningful.I found myself slowing down during the session in a way that I didn’t expect. After climbing up to see the pagoda, taking photos, and moving with the usual tourist flow, sitting down and focusing on a small creative activity felt grounding. It gave me a moment to actually process where I was and what I was seeing.The views around the workshop area add to the experience as well. Even when you’re focused on your work, you’re aware of the surroundings, the quiet of the area, and the presence of Mount Fuji in the distance on a clear day. Personnel très sympathique et accueillant et activité très chouette et traditionnelle. Je recommande si vous faites les pagodes de chureito. Un grand merci au personnel qui nous a aidés 😄

This was such an amazing activity after going up to the Chureito Pagoda observation deck. My wife and I got to learn some kanji and designed our own daruma. Thank you so much for this opportunity!!!
The personnel was very friendly and explained how to go on about drawing the Daruma Doll and even showed an informative paper on what the different parts of its face and colors represent
Super nice staff and a super fun and memorable activity. Recommend everyone to try!
