It's nice to eat at a place with more veggies. They have a section to hang and dry your coat near a heater. Their curry doesn't taste like traditional Japanese curry but we liked it.
This is the place to be when you're in Myoko. Beautiful simple food with a twist of interesting flavour and great selection of cocktails.
Best salad had in a very long time and that is compared to Australasian standards! Quinoa salad is huge and so full of goodness - plus the best tofu I’ve ever had. Such a treat as veges that are fresh and plentiful seem a little hard to find in Japan.Edamame bowl is huge too - def to share.Chicken wings and the Gouda Mac cheese were also (according to those who ate) were delicious!Great food all round and very good value.
One of the best curry’s I’ve had. Stumbled upon this hidden gem while trying to find a dinner location, and so happy we did. The curry was incredible.
K kitchen!! What an amazing place. Vegan food was top quality, staff , atmosphere were lovely. The owner / mom helped us by ordering a taxi and let us stay at the restaurant after hours -away from cold.Such amazing people ❤️
Wings, tofu and edamame were really delicious. Had to get all the flavours of wings to try them. Beer was cold, vibes were high and really lovely staff
Attracted by the vegan options available signboard outside the restaurant eventhough I'm not a vegan as vegan/vegetarian options are really limited in Japanese food. There are more vegan options on the menu than meat 😆😆 vegan options for gyoza, 'fried chicken', ramen, curry rice, pizza etc etc.Ordered japanese chicken curry and it was good!! Always a fan of Japanese curry and this curry rice is made from scratch with 37 herbs and spices. Taste wise its flavourful and more on the sweet side. Definitely a nice difference from standard Japanese curry choux..Nice and cozy restaurant with homely interior. Service is on the slow side but totally fine as not in a hurry and life in mountains supposed to be slow and chill!
We loved our experience at K. Kitchen, It's very homey and feels like you are entering a mom's living room when you walk in. We had a vegetarian in our party and their menu had something for everyone, we ordered vegetarian curry, green curry with chicken, pizza with ham, vegetable gyoza and vegan karage - everything was delicious. The owner speaks some English and is extremely nice, I highly recommend you pay k. Kitchen a visit when visiting akakura.
very friendly staffs, although not much choices from the menu but the “infamous spicy curry” is a must try! try reserving one of your night to visit K kitchen in Akahura Onsen area!

Gorgeous family ran restaurant. Hard to find vegan food in Japan without risking malnutrition. We had so many good options here. They even reopened a day after closing for the season just for us. Thank you so much!
