A few steps off the main street of Kinosaki is this beautiful, delicious hidden gem! We tried a range of dishes, from a life changing potato mochi in honey butter sauce to delicious eggplant and soy curd in Japanese broth through to the house speciality, fresh grilled unagi. Across the board, wow! Friendly, attentive and enthusiastic owners and a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend!
鰻のひつまぶし食べられるの、但馬ではあまり聞きません。とても美味しいし国産の鰻で城崎で、、この値段ならお安いと思いました！オススメ！！！
AMAZINGGGGG! I'm not personally a fan of eel, but my friends are (they said it was delicious!) I got a few of the other meal options and was very happy with all of them. Potato mochi, chicken wings, fried rice. CHICKEN WINGS ARE A MUST!!! Highly reccomend this spot. The people working there are also very sweet and informative.

Stepping into Shōfuku (笑福) offers an immediate, warm, and cozy atmosphere that feels genuinely authentic.The Food is absolutely outstanding. We tried the udon, which had a perfect savory broth and wonderful texture, and the karaage (Japanese fried chicken), which was crispy, juicy, and perfectly seasoned—a must-try dish. Everything tasted homemade and fresh.Beyond the incredible quality of the cooking, the Service was impeccable. The owners are incredibly welcoming and attentive, making you feel like an honored guest rather than a customer.With top marks across the board—Food, Service, and Atmosphere—this is a 5-star experience and a genuinely delicious taste of local hospitality. It's the perfect spot for a relaxed, authentic meal after a day of onsen hopping. Don't miss it!
Best restaurant in Kinosaki and best eel I’ve ever had! As if amazing food wasn’t enough, the husband and wife that own this izakaya were the kindest people we have encountered in Japan. They made us feel welcomed, at home and well cared for. I can’t recommend this place enough. It was so good that we came here twice - once for dinner and once for lunch. We had the eel dinner and got to meet the eel we were going to eat. That’s how fresh the food is here. We missed out on the fried chicken both times so go early and have some for us. Exceptional value and experience.
We had a wonderful experience here! The eel was incredibly fresh — they even showed it to us live before cooking, which was such a nice touch. The staff were very friendly and efficient, and they even made a kind gesture with our drinks after I made a mistake in the order. The chef spoke a bit of English and took the time to explain the dish to us, which made the experience even more enjoyable.Overall: very friendly service, great food, fair prices. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic eel meal!

どこも閉店時間が早い中で、夜遅くまで空いている店を探して此処にたどり着きました。まずお通しがクオリティ高くて驚き！お高い店の中で、この店はお酒も料理もお手頃価格でどれも美味しい！特に1本180円の笑福からが美味しすぎて持って帰りたいくらいでした。カニを食べ終え、まだ飲み足りない人たちはここに集えばいいと思います。

Incredible way to end our trip to Kinosaki Onsen. They had a special tonight "Tajima Chicken curry udon", and it was insanely good. One of the best udon/ramen we've ever had, and we've had a LOT. Wish we found this place yesterday, we would have come every night! The potato mochi was also SO good, and the fried rice was amazing. Highly reccomended this place!! The owner was really nice
