CLEAN, refreshed interiors that, while low key, offer a good value and a great location.NEX operates two housing facilities here. There's this NGIS (geared towards TDY travelers) that's close to the Womble gate. Then there's a Navy Lodge (geared towards PCS families) closer to the waterfront, on base housing, and NEX. Know the difference when you're making reservations.NGIS does not have an elevator.Nice place. I hope I can return again soon.
Compared to the other base lodging, this place is amazing and highly preferred, mostly because of its location. Right next to the gate, this NGIS has easy access to everything out in town and is a quick walk to multiple convenience stores. I also appreciate the coffee available in the lobby.Compared to the common options out in town, the NGIS is good enough that I wouldn't discount it. The worst part of the NGIS is there isn't any fitness equipment on the property, and the Fleet Rec gym is a 10+ min walk away.
You get a kitchen with a full sink and dishes to use, a refrigerator with a separate freezer that works, K-cup coffee maker, IR stove, microwave and separated bedroom/Living-rooms. Also depending on which building you are in you will either get a really large shower or a large bathtub/shower combo.Couple all of that with excellent staff and I can't say anything bad about the place. . .Except for the IR stove, that thing is a pain to use with no instructions available.
Very nice rooms. All the amenities of a small apartment. Staff is excellent. However, the AC is horrible. Room is constantly warm and muggy, and after a long day of work, that is the last thing you want. A fan is provided (check the closets) and a humidifier is in the room. The humidifier in my room blew out hot air, adding to the heat load and you should dump it frequently. In the span of just 4 hours it sucked about a gallon of water out of the air. But again, on days when it is not 90 degrees with 80-90% humidity this place is fantastic.
Great location with easy access to/from Yokosuka-chuo Station. There is a gate right by this location, but be aware that it’s not a 24-hour gate.The rooms are well maintained and are very clean. Full kitchen, plenty of closet space, iron and ironing board, hairdryer and more.The walls and ceiling/floors are a little thin, I think my upstairs neighbor was hosting a rave the first night I was there and you could hear activity in the hallway pretty easily, but it didn’t bother me.The staff is very polite, attentive, and extremely helpful.Overall this was a great experience.
This place is no more or less than okay. It is amazing for what is needed, a place to live for about two weeks. There is room service and a laundry machine but the shower sucks (terrible pressure) and the entire place has problems with insulation. So unfortunately if you stay here in the winter it is really hard to keep the place cold without having all the heaters on their highest temperature. Additionally the only bathroom does not have heating what so ever and it is attached to the master bedroom so if you stay here with anyone other than you and a spouse it can be difficult. Again, staying here was a pain because of how cold it was and I had to sleep on the couch because the roll-away sucks but it could have been much worse. It is a fully stocked apartment with plates/bowls/forks/etc. and has a stove and laundry machine. So in light of all these positives and negatives, it was okay.
Need updating a little worn on carpet throughout, air in room could not be controlled until a certain day when allowed by command even tho you are paying for rental of room. Bed was lumpy and entrance to bath door floor transition was very high bump toe many times. Front clerks were marvelous outstanding. This place would be second choice if possible
