Just completed a 3-week course at Namd Matchakase, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone who’s curious about matcha and hōjicha.I still can’t believe I was Sensei Namd’s first student.Over three weeks, I learnt the basics of making matcha au lait and hōjicha au lait, while getting to try a range of teas and blends from Marukyu, Kitaura and Yūgen, all during a matcha shortage.Highlights included a coconut matcha and a matcha with homemade strawberry jam. Most importantly, I had one of the best cups of matcha I’ve ever tasted here.Leaving with a few new skills, a deeper appreciation for tea, and lots to practise at home. Looking forward to continuing my studies under Sensei.
If you thought this was just another matcha spot, think again.With no reservations and access only via exclusive invitations, this omakase experience uses only ceremonial grade matcha with limited-time milk options that elevate the entire drinking experience - the coconut is phenomenal, but only if you’re lucky enough to receive it.To truly appreciate the experience, make sure you cleanse your palate before you consume the carefully concocted creations - your tastebuds will thank you in turn.
恵比寿にある完全招待制・一見さんお断りの抹茶カフェです。材料は全てオーガニックで、好みに合わせてオーナーがとっておきの抹茶を提供してくださいました。抹茶にココナッツミルクが混ざった matcha cloud は、ココナッツが抹茶の風味をより強くしていて、オリジナリティと味が最高でした！オーナーのNamdも従業員の方もとても明るく、お店のわんちゃんもとってもお利口です！品質も味も最高な素敵なお店でした。
This is one of the most unique matcha omakase experiences I’ve had the privilege of being invited to. You pre-order your matcha drink from a list (custom orders are also accepted) and receive a wagashi pairing. I ordered a coconut based matcha drink with a matcha “cloud” cream topping. There was delicious, fresh coconut flesh inside the drink. My drink was served with a side of Warabi mochi.Namd’s bubbly personality makes her a true delight to chat with, and watching her conscientiously measure and weigh each ingredient with care was a lot of fun.If you’re in the area, you need to stop by for a cup of matcha that will blow your mind. And if you’re not in the area, it’s definitely worth making the trip here.
GENUINE MATCHA CAFE - Namd’s matcha cafe is generous with its matcha and I was impressed by the large variety of flavoured matcha drinks. The cafe was very bright and homey as well and made me feel so relaxed!
Not a matcha lover but this changed my life.
One of the best matcha that I've had. Tried both latte and pure matcha format with some side sweets; both were superb in its own way. The highlight has got to be the matcharista setting the perfect vibe and service that makes you feel like you're at home. This has got to be a one-time experience that you cannot get anywhere else in Tokyo.
