This place is perfect for anyone looking to experience life away from the city, surrounded by beautiful views of rice fields and gardens. The house is over 100 years old and has been wonderfully preserved. It was truly an enjoyable and memorable stay. The host is very friendly and an excellent cook, especially skilled in using “koji” as an ingredient. During early summer, visitors can even pick fresh blueberries and cherry tomatoes for free, such a delightful bonus!

Went to Kibuchuo for a tour and stayed with the sweetest Hakkou family. They taught us how to cook with koji (used for miso, shoyu, and amazake) and even made sure everything was halal with no alcohol in the seasoning 🥺. I finally got to do a tea ceremony again, wore a yukata, and picked fresh tomatoes and blueberries from their garden. Anyway, the house they live in has been around for more than 100 years!!!
