I have been studying with Akira for over a year now, and it has been fantastic. Haruka Sensei has helped me tremendously. She is patient, kind, and excellent at explaining the concepts so that I understand them. I plant to continue my studies with Haruka sensei all the way to passing N1, and I believe she can help me get there. The program is excellent. If you’re on the fence, I say, go for it. I highly recommend Akira Online Japanese School TOKYO.

Thanks to her, I recently passed the JLPT N5 exam! Haruka-sensei is very kind and always makes the lessons enjoyable. Her explanations are easy to understand, and she teaches at a comfortable pace even when the material is difficult, which is very reassuring. Haruka-sensei's lessons are truly fun, and she's made me enjoy studying. I'm so glad I met her!
I studied with Yuka-Sensei through Akira for almost a year and a half and had an amazing experience! She was extremely kind and caring, and the curriculum taught was really useful for real-life situations. Yuka-Sensei also helped prepare me for life in Tokyo and was an integral part of my success living here so far.
Highly recommend. I was very lucky to have Yuka-sensei as my teacher, who is very professional, helpful, knowledgeable, nice, and patient. The lessons are well organized, and the course materials are very practical and helpful. I also highly recommend Team Akira as a whole, the communications are always pleasant and they are always there to help whenever I have questions. It is such a great experience of learning Japanese via Akira and with Yuka-sensei.
I've had a wonderful time with Keiko-sensei for the past year learning Japanese! Her lessons are thoughtful, engaging, and made learning enjoyable. Through the lesson, you do a variety of exercises ranging from vocabulary and grammar quizzes, sentence construction, and speaking practice. Keiko-sensei is also just a very sweet person on top of everything else and you can tell she cares about your learning experience.
For a little of a year, I have been working Keiko-Sensei on my Japanese and let me just say that I enjoy every minute of it. Team Akira truly knows how to adjust the learning curriculum to your needs and speed. Keiko-sensei always explained through the lessons/PowerPoints truly well and went into more detail when I had further questions. Akira definitely provides the strong foundation needed for you, but of course that is only half of it. When learning a language, the other half is you putting the effort to study on your own. Which is why I love how they have the class structure here, you go to class prepared and should expect to use what you are studying straight to work. It has truly is a better way to retain a new language for me, and sometimes I find myself putting sentences together easier than I would initially think. I find taking one class per week is just enough for me with the time I have, as I tend to be pretty busy with work and what not. Overall, Team Akira and Keiko-Sensei is amazing, patient, and always provides me with everything I need to be successful in my Japanese studies!
I've been learning Japanese through Akira Online for about two years now. Working with Daigo sensei has helped my Japanese level tremendously, and I am now able to converse with people and understand and read simple to intermediate instructions as well. Daigo sensei understood the areas that I needed more attention in and built a customized curriculum for me throughout the years. You do need to put in a lot of work on your own with homework and self-study, but you are provided with the right direction to succeed, so it's much more efficient than just studying on your own. The cost is super reasonable as well, and I would highly recommend Akira to anyone interested in learning Japanese!

The courses are high quality with very competent staff. Akira and Manami-sensei created a thorough lesson plan which helped me meet my language goals, however the price is a bit high.
