ARTS is hands down the best real estate group I’ve worked with since living in Tokyo. Their staff are really kind and knowledgeable about the Tokyo market, especially in Naka-Meguro and Yutenji, but other areas, too. They helped me quickly locate an apartment that met my needs and budget. Also, it was really easy to communicate with their staff, even without full fluency in Japanese (some of their staff are fluent in English). They don’t charge “foreigner taxes” for their apartments or services, and they never made me feel discouraged about trying to find an apartment as a foreigner (some previous places I’ve worked with have suggested that I need to be ready to pay higher fees because I’m not Japanese). To the contrary, they made me feel fully supported and made the entire rental process transparent so I always knew what I would be charged and why. I actually enjoyed working with them so much that I chose to rent an apartment in an ARTS-owned building (ARTS realtors showed me apartments in a range of buildings, some of which they own and manage). I figured that working with them through the rental process was so easy, that I’d want to have them as landlords, too. So far, it’s been an amazing experience and much better than others I’ve had. I highly, highly recommend ARTS for any kind of renter with any kind of budget!!
