The company is definitely trustworthy. I have bought a car on the auction. It arrived exactly as described. Easy payments (done that via TransferWise but other options there too). TokyoCarz communicate effectively (via email or WhatsUp), never had to wait more than 24hrs to hear back. They help me with numerous ad hoc requests throughout the entire process. One thing that I want to point out is the fact that it took a long time for delivery (which is not TokyoCars fault as there is a huge shortage with the boats). However, they informed that that my car was already on the boat which turned out not to be the case (it was loaded a month later). They did not want "to cause an additional stress" as the reason for not telling me (I have found out that it is typical of their culture to have a difficulty communicating tough messages). Other than that everything was as expected. I am really happy with TokyoCarz and would definitely recommend them to people looking to import cars from Japan. In fact, I will be getting more cars with their help soon.

UPDATE 26/05/2026I have received my funds back, so have raised the rating to 2* as, despite the less than great service, my money was returned to me.------------------------------I deposited funds with TokyoCarZ / Zuffra Trading in late February to purchase a vehicle. After several unsuccessful attempts to secure a suitable vehicle, I requested a refund, which I was informed would take approximately one week to process.More than a month after initiating the refund process (roughly 3 months from sending the payment), the refund has still not been completed despite providing all required bank details promptly. Following my own enquiry, Rakuten Bank confirmed that the refund instruction has been processed on their side and is now awaiting execution by the company.While communication has been polite, responses have become slow and it has been difficult to obtain clear updates or a confirmed timeline for when the refund will be completed.I am sharing this experience in the interest of transparency for other potential customers. I hope the matter is resolved promptly.
