This place has a great atmosphere, fantastic people who run it, and honestly, some of the best cookies I’ve ever had.
Stopped by SawaSawa during my trip to Japan after I gladly saw they had a couple cafe days open during my stay. I found them on instagram a while back and was so excited to be able to support them.The cafe has a super laid back vibe and is decorated with Palestinian regalia while also displaying art created by Palestinians which is for sale. The owners were so welcoming and kind to me. I ordered a Maramiya tea and hung out for a while reading a book. I definitely recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a positive community space to learn and unwind.
What a wonderful place! A calm inviting atmosphere, a corner with books to read and beautiful pieces in the exhibition. Recommend coming here and supporting this space!
This place is truly special. I was lucky enough to meet several of the owners, and they were all incredibly kind and compassionate. The tea and drip coffee were excellent, but what really sets this cafe apart is its atmosphere and deeper purpose.Beyond serving great drinks, the cafe offers a small library and pamphlets aimed at educating visitors about Palestine and other oppressed communities, such as the Ryukyu people. Shelves are filled with merchandise and handmade items, with proceeds supporting humanitarian aid efforts, including direct donations to Gaza. Ongoing fundraisers are also on display, providing meaningful ways for guests to contribute.I happened to visit during their grand opening and feel grateful for the experience. I’m already looking forward to coming back.
