Beautiful Knives. Del did an excellent job explaining the craftsmanship and proper maintenance. I would definitely visit again!
Del was very accommodating for our large group (6). He took plenty of time showing us the use cases for each blade, the source of the blades and handles, as well as the lychee coating techniques. You can tell they truly care about their work and the educational aspect of knife care. Beautiful knives and chopsticks!
I stumbled across Del's stand at the United Nations University Farmers' Market after spending several days dragging my wife around Tokyo in search of the right Japanese knife. I'd visited a number of shops, but nothing had quite clicked.Del was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and he took the time to walk me through the different knives he had available without any pressure to buy. After a lot of deliberation, I decided on a bunka knife, and I couldn't be happier with the choice. It's still early days, but the knife has performed beautifully so far. It's incredibly sharp, feels fantastic in the hand, and looks absolutely stunning. You can immediately tell that a great deal of care and craftsmanship has gone into it.What has impressed me just as much as the knife itself is the support after the sale. Del has been incredibly responsive whenever I've had questions, whether about the best chopping board to use, knife maintenance, or general care. That level of customer service is rare and greatly appreciated.I'm by no means a professional chef, just an enthusiastic home cook who enjoys spending time in the kitchen. Even so, I can confidently say that investing in a knife of this quality is absolutely worth it. It has already made food preparation more enjoyable, and I expect it will be a treasured part of my kitchen for years to come.I'll definitely be visiting the dedicated Kikusumi store the next time I'm in Tokyo.
I had always purchased Kikusumi’s knives at the Farmers Market at UNU, but I recently visited their studio and purchased directly. The studio is just a short walk from Sangubashi Station and also easy to access by bus from Shibuya, making it very convenient to visit. It was a great experience to see their collections in person and learn more about the craftsmanship behind the knives. I also heard they offer a knife sharpening experience by reservation, so I’d love to try that next time.
Excellent knives! Del has an extremely deep level of expertise, and he even took the time to invite us to the studio and answer all our question, which was incredibly interesting and is a testament to the level of care they put into their craft!

I came here to buy a gift for a close friend who is passionate about knives. Beyond the absolute beauty and craftsmanship of the knives, it turned out to be one of the most authentic experiences of my time in Japan. The owner was exceptionally kind and shared fascinating insights into both the world of Japanese knives and Japan itself. Truly a memorable visit.
