Yoshiichiro and Yoshiko Kuge are the dream team couple! 🕊️ I’ve never felt more taken care of! Such lovely energy, I was served tea, snacks and cake while I was taught all about the history and methods of Kintsugi. They are so thoughtful and kind. As the sun set into the humble art studio, we all shared warm conversation and they helped me repair my ceramic foot-pot that had burst in the kiln. This is by far one of my most precious and important memories I made in Japan, and I encourage any one that wants a healing experience to visit Kuge! Thank you both for being such wonderful people and making me feel so welcomed. 🥹
今日金継ぎを体験して大変感動しました。久家さんたちは凄く優しくて、丁寧に説明してくれました。人間の温もりを感じる一日です。おすすめです。Even if you speak English, it’s totally fine. They will have English explanation prepared. I believe they are trying their best to share more about kintsugi to anyone. :)
One of the coolest experiences I’ve had in Tokyo. Yoshiko-san and Yoishiichiro-san are lovely people and are clearly passionate about kintsugi. Before the class they provided us with delicious snacks and tea, and we each got to pick the tea cup we wanted to repair. The teacups were antiques from the Meiji era, which we were able to keep and take home after repairing which was really cool. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone looking for an authentic and culturally unique experience.
The kintsugi class was amazing! Yoshiko-san and Yoshiichiro-san are amazing and kind teachers that made this introductory class very approachable. I would absolutely recommend this course to anyone looking to learn kintsugi art
A wonderful experience. The Kinsugi was taught by the cheerful elderly couple, the Kuges'. And through the session we we had happy conversations about the art and many other things. There was another lady from the neighbourhood painting dishes for her new born and family; and another lady came in with broken dishes to be fixed. A lovely afternoon.
Our experience was great!We started off with a homemade dessert treat, and Yoshiichiro and Yoshiko were lovely. They patiently walked us through the process of creating our own pieces, and gave us information on equipment to purchase here in Japan in order to do kintsugi back home.Overall a lovely way to have a personalized souvenir and learn more about the art of Kintsugi.

We visited the shop yesterday to do the introductory course. The owners were so kind and encouraging. They gave us lots of information and instructions to take home.We only repaired a small chip in the cups, but they gave us the explanations needed to do more once we return home.Very sweet couple with years of experience. Was a pleasure to learn from them.
