周辺のオススメ
This area is the only place where the original forests of Musashino still remain. The Tamagawa Aqueduct flows along the northern side of this forest; it was constructed to meander while maintaining a specific elevation along the northern edge of the hills, deliberately avoiding integration into the Kanda River system—which originates at Inokashira Pond. It is deeply moving to reflect on the fact that this waterway was carefully designed by the Tamagawa brothers in the early Edo period and built through the labor of local farmers.この地区ではかつての武蔵野の森が残る唯一の場所である。この森の北側に玉川上水が流れているが、井の頭池を水源とする神田川水系に取り込まれないように、この丘陵地帯北側に沿うように高度を維持して蛇行しながら玉川上水が作られている。江戸時代初期に玉川兄弟が熟慮して設計し、近隣の農民の労力により作ったのかと思うと感慨深いものがある。
