The lengthy entrance/approach to the Sanctuary of Yasukuni Shrine starts at Waseda-dori near the intersection with Route 302 (Yasukuni-dori).There is another entrance across the street from the St. Paul's Society of Chartres building that runs between the shrine's Noh stage and the Yashukan Museum. By heading straight along this path, one can reach the 靖国神社 啓照館 Yasukuni Shrine Keishōkan (the refurbished dressing rooms for the Sumo dohyo in the North West corner of the shrine precincts, now a seminar room and multipurpose building). In front of this hall is a statue of a pair of wrestlers locked in a yotsu sumo battle.The sculptor 長谷川義起 Yoshioki Hasegawa (1891-1974) created the work in (昭和九年五月建) May 1934.Titled 大日本相撲奨勵會.There is a similar sculpture at Takaoka Kojo Park 高岡古城公園 in Toyama Prefecture dating from 1938.
