Abe-chan is a very decent human. Please seek his bar on the upper level in the golden gai. He speaks good English and is willing to engage in conversation.
Great spot with a wonderful owner. Seats 6-7 and is one of the more popular spots thanks to people on Reddit and some YouTube spotlights. Abe-Chan is very nice and loved talking to us foreigners. Try his homemade Cherry-Blossom-infused Japanese Whiskey! Yum!

Abe-Chan is amazing and the bar is worth the visit. We made new friends visiting Japan as well. Many first timers seem to be where we’re going.This bar was perfect to get some whiskey, sake, gin or beers. Enjoy your time in Japan here after a day of shopping.
1/25に姉と行きました。初めての新宿、初めての歌舞伎町、初めてのゴールデン街。30年以上住んでる姉に連れられて素敵なバーと、素敵なAbe-chanに逢えて良かったです！また行きたいです！ありがとうございました！

Abe-Chan was a wonderful host. Lost track of time and 2 hours later we had sampled half a dozen Japanese whiskeys on his recommendation and none missed. Very kind soul and recommend all to visit
