Very cool experience. Watching the wrestlers train up close was fascinating, and the guide did an excellent job explaining the traditions and techniques. It was respectful, well-organized, and one of the most memorable things we’ve in Tokyo, so far.
This was the real deal, not your tourist trap. This tour allowed you to see an ACTUAL sumo training session and not some performance show. For the hour practice we were asked to be quiet to respect the wrestlers and their space. Then we were each given ear buds and had information about the Sumo wrestlers and the sport itself told to us then entire time..it was super educational, interesting, and authentic. I have a new found appreciation for the sport and these incredible athletes.
Great experience seeing how these Sumo wrestlers train and prepare for combat. It's about 90 minutes total. It's definitely worth doing if you're in the Tokyo area.
The tour staff were incredibly polite and knowledgeable. They provided great insight and voice over as we enjoyed watching a live practice. I highly recommend!
Really fun experience, learning the seriousness sumo take their training was eye opening. Much respect to them all
I went to the morning practice. It was actually pretty cool. But for 18000 yen it was a stretch. It was advertised as 90 min, but was more like 45min w quick photo at the end. Guide shared some interesting facts via wireless headset system. Most facts were easily accessible anywhere to those who are curious, but there were a few unique facts about individual wrestlers that came directly from the guide.Also, silly me put a food in the dojo for photo. Sumo said No and I quickly realised. I should have known, but guide should have been absolutely clear on that protocol before photos.Glad I went, but expensive for what it was.

We attended the Sumo Morning Training Tour on our first day of our first trip to Japan and we loved it. Well organized and very informative. Our guide Yumi showed great enthusiasm and knowledge. We greatly appreciate her sharing her love of the sport.
