I didn't see any other Google reviews on this place, so I wanted to be the first to say, after staying here for 3 nights, that it's legit! A great value for the weekend in Tokyo, especially for a private room and functional facilities.They speak a decent amount of English, but all my correspondence with them in booking.com messages was in Japanese, using Google translate. The initial check-in process was very clear and easy, and having access to a shower, bathtub, and even an unmetered washing machine was awesome. What we could use and how we were allowed to inhabit the space was pretty confusing though, and it wasn't ever made completely clear, neither in Japanese or English. It feels like somewhere between a home stay and an Airbnb, with the downstairs apparently being a self-serve cafe but with little explanation whether guests could be there. Sometimes family members will be bustling around or using the common areas, all very friendly, but it was hard not to feel invasive. I'd recommend asking the patron from the beginning what facilities (dishware, kitchen, cooking supplies, kettle/drinks, etc) are allowed to be used, because the only explanation we got was of the bathroom.The location is right next to an awesome bakery, supermarket, department store, everything you need. This is a great place to hang out as a tourist away from the chaos and costs of downtown Tokyo, to shop and plan your next moves. The location requires a bus transfer (or a mile walk) to the train, then a 45 minute train into Tokyo, which isn't terrible, but not great. We picked it for being closer to Mt Takao, but it was 3 transfer and not super convenient for that, either. It's a comfy, inexpensive, private room with some adorable dogs outside and a friendly family. So long as you're okay with feeling a little awkward and confused, and don't expect to access Tokyo quickly, then it's an awesome deal and a great choice. 👍
