for those who love a little adventure and if you’re into craftwork, I highly recommend this workshop.Hanko Stamps are unique in that theyre personal and an official method of authenticating letters and documents (like a signature)I’ve made a reservation through their website for a workshop experience just a few days before arriving to Japan. The reservation consists of stamp engraving process, officializing your stamp and experiencing tea ceremony.Mr. Hiroshi and Mr. Kobayashi were very diligent with providing us with the appropriate Kanji for our names, offered us a selection of beautiful stones to choose from and talked us through the experience. (Sound of Jewels) was my Kanji name. The workshop itself was very cozy with many beautiful pieces on display. The following ceremonies (Official Stamping and Tea Ceremony) were also such an intimate experience, I recommend doing it as talking about it would not do justice.The workshop is in a valley and the trains the that come and go here take a while but it’s very surreal and beautiful, don’t be anxious about travelling here, the people are nice and will help you out if you ask. Come early if you’re staying far from the area, the Limited Express train will also take cash on the train itself so dont worry about getting a ticket from Kaiiwama back to your station of origin. I took the Limited Express from Shizuoka station to Kaiiwama; Mr. Hiroshi, the conductors and the station attendants were kind enough to assist us with catching our train to Osaka as it was late into the night already.Communicated often with Mr. Hiroshi Harada via email, he was kind enough to guide us through how to reach the workshop and was waiting to pick us up at Kaiiwama Station once we arrived.Thank you for the wonderful experience and the fun conversations, Harada Shokodo Co. 🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵“ryu ryoku ka kou”Pictures and videos are as follows
