Immediately to the right of the entrance to 東光寺 Tōkōji, Miyachō, Omiya Ward, Saitama Prefecture, across a small bridge is a じぞう堂 Jizōdo [hall] with a modernistic Jizo statue. On either side of the statue of the patron of travelers and children, are a pair of (strange) attendants. On seems to be a mouse in a hooded cloak, reminiscent of the yokai characters of 武良茂 Mizuki Shigeru. The other is a young girl with a spikey hat.Easy to miss. A sign outside the door to the hall (ご参拝自由) invites passers by to pray here.
