As a tourist, I was in Osaka and saw on Google maps that there's a Gurudwara in Kobe. So I went and was very warmly welcomed. Lovely kirtan from 12:00 till 13:15 and then a hearty langer. (Open on Sundays only.) I felt a warm glow and it was great to chat with some of the local Sikhs who've been here 50+ years. Theres a very tiny community here, and they love welcoming tourists/foreigners.It's a bit of a pain to get to from Osaka, but on my return journey, I realized that probably the best option is to take the Hankyu-Kobe line train to Ojikoen station and its a 10-12 minute walk from there.

I couldn’t believe there’s a gurdwara in Kobe (Japan) that’s open to the public 24/7! The Granthi Jis were so welcoming and made me feel completely at home. I had a great, long chat with them about our traditions and values. Such a beautiful experience. Definitely a must-visit if you ever get the chance!

People here are friendly, everyone is welcome to join. But be notice that there is no subtitles nor translations for the ritual. Still a good chance to know different culture.誰でも親切に接してくれる暖かい場所です。礼拝と食事はどなたでも参加できますが、通訳や字幕での説明がないため言葉が通じないと理解しづらい一面もある。異文化を体験するいい場所と思います。教徒們十分親切,任何人都能參加禮拜和用餐。但是禮拜本身沒有口譯翻譯，語言不通的話觀禮為主。體驗異國文化的好去處。

Gurdwara sahib is located near the bus stop but you can also walk from Ojikoen station about 10 mins walk. Kirtan is only on Sunday between 12-1pm followed by langar. However, Sangat there told me that full time granthi singh lives in Gurdwara Sahib so you can visit any day during the week as well. Very beautiful community who welcome everyone with open heart.

Beautiful and welcoming Gurdwara in Kobe Japan. We were extremely lucky to have been able to visit for Bandi Chhor Divas and Diwali in November 2023 and were filled with happiness and warmth to have been able to spend it in this special Gurdwara. Very well run, and we were made to feel so welcome. For anyone else visiting/travelling Japan and wanting to go to a Gurdwara definitely come here, I believe it is open every Sunday

JR灘駅から徒歩10分のところにあるシク教の寺院。毎週日曜日11時半ぐらいから始まるお祈りに誰でも参加できます。お祈りにはハルモニウムやタブラの生演奏もありパンジャブ語がわからなくても儀式を楽しむことができます。そして13時半ごろから始まるランガルという炊き出しのような儀式にも参加可能。ランガルは地位や宗教、人種など一切関係なく同じものを同じテーブルで同じように食事する儀式です。是非、インドやシク教に興味があるひとに訪れてほしい場所です。きっとアムリトサルに行きたくなると思います。

毎週日曜日の礼拝には誰でも参加できると聞いたのでドキドキしながら訪問。着いたものの、やはり入りにくく躊躇していたところにターバン巻いた男性が通りかかったので思い切って「見学させて欲しいのですが」と尋ねたところ、快く案内してくれました。建物の二階が礼拝所で、12時~礼拝が始まりました。スィク教の聖典は歌うと聞いていましたが、まさにライブのような礼拝でした。歌い手と演奏する人とが交互に入れ替わりつつ一時間ちょいの礼拝が終わるとインドのお菓子ハルワやチョコレートが配られました。本来ならその後、一階にてलंगर ランガルと呼ばれる食事が振る舞われるのですが、今はコロナ禍の為に中止されていて、代わりにお弁当が配られます。行かれる方は男女共に、髪の毛を覆うスカーフかバンダナを持参してください🙏スィク教への敬意を示す為に必要です！
