When our family moved to Okinawa in the summer of 2024, our first priority was finding a home church that was truly Christ‑centered and biblically sound. We visited Central Baptist Church during our first month here, and it quickly became our home.This church consistently encourages you to read, understand, and grow in the Scriptures. The church body genuinely supports one another in spiritual growth, and there are many opportunities for fellowship, discipleship, and regular Bible study.We are so grateful to be part of such a loving, Christ‑focused family. If you’re looking for a church that keeps Jesus at the center and faithfully teaches God’s Word, we highly recommend visiting Central Baptist Church.
We attended this church for a year and half while we were stationed in Oki from 2009-2011 (former location). This is a wonderful body of believers that love the Lord and love each other, and love to serve Him in their community. We are especially grateful for the relationships that we built while we were there, and will forever cherish the friendships that we still maintain to this day. My wife and I both grew in the Lord so much while we attended CBC, and while all glory goes to God for working in our lives, He did it through His faithful servants at CBC, many of whom poured their lives into ours and made a great, positive, Christ-exalting impact in our lives.
We attended this church for three years, and found it to be a tremendous blessing while we were in Okinawa. With a mix of Americans, Filipinos, and Japanese, this church has a burden to preach Scripture clearly, to show the love of Christ, and to minister well to others as they grow in the Lord. We were truly sorry to leave, but we learned and benefited much from our time and the church family there!
The Gospel, God's Word is faithfully preached and taught here, the fellowship is beautiful! This church has been a blessing, you are welcomed like family and cared for and I thank God for the wonderful friends I've made here! ❤️ Love the monthly potluck too! Always pray for God's leading when looking for a church! Hopefully it'll be this one!
When my husband and I first arrived in Okinawa we had no idea what awaited us. We discovered my husband had brain cancer. We only knew a few people from my husband's work, but one of those people went to Central Baptist Church, and he put us on a prayer list telling them about our ordeal. Once we were able to get out of the hospital and back to our new normal, we went to Central Baptist Church and we received such a welcome and so much love from people we didn't know. People who prayed for us not knowing us at all. They praised God for His answer to their prayers. We joined the church soon after and we were so blessed!! They love Jesus and want to reach people for Jesus! They love their community and pray for its people.All are welcome here!!
If you are looking for a close knit, conservative church family near beautiful Yomitan, come visit Central Baptist Church a few minutes from the beach! The Gospel of Jesus Christ is faithfully preached and practically lived out by the church leadership with an emphasis on small group discipleship. There are opportunities to get involved in supporting ministries from Children’s church to medical missions teams going to the Philippines. And the members are friendly, welcoming, and enjoy spending time together. Visit Central Baptist Church before leaving Okinawa!
