Fantastic place to pick up locally made japanese hand tools. The young gentleman is very knowledgeable in the products sold as well as woodworking. He not only helped me down select a hand plane, he explained in great detail the tunning required for final assembly. This is typical of japanese planes as the wood must acclimate to the woodworkers environment. He also helped me pick out a hammer and explained the process of making the handle. Fantastic store and I wish they had an online store.

Wonderful woodworking store; my husband loved his experience there and told me that it was the exact one he was hoping for with authentic Japanese tools. The family is extremely kind and were so friendly to us. The chisels my husband selected are incredibly high quality and we highly recommend anyone make the trip to visit their establishment.

Small shop with beautiful handmade Japanese woodwork tools. The people at my hostile called ahead to make sure they would be open. The owner and his wife were very friendly and helpful. He was able to answer all questions and make some recommendations. Thankfully he spoke some English because my Japanese is week at best. Kind gentleman spoke to me in some detail about the chisels I was interested in and reccomend less expensive products he had in the back of the shop to match my hobby-level skill. Was nice enough to give me a carrying pouch for the 3 chisels I bought to help pack and transport them. Very nice shop with some seriously gorgeous tools and small products that the owner makes himself.His hours are not regular so call ahead unless you happen to have a lot of luck.Impossible to miss it if it is open when you walk past.

It's a small shop, but the biggest dedicated woodworking tool shop I've been to in Japan. Great selections of high quality tools. The owner and his wife was wonderful, they also spoke English and answered all my questions. It was very welcoming being there. I had a wonderful time looking around.

Inoue and his wife were very welcoming and friendly. Inoue was interested to know where I was from in Australia and put me on to a range of japanese furniture makers working in Australia. He was very patient and helpful given my limited familiarity with Japanese wood working tools. His honesty struck me when he recommended cheaper items as he felt some of my choices were not ideal for beginners. He really was looking to help me make successful choices instead of maximising his sales. He showed me some books and youtube content from a famous craftsman friend of his who had great introductory/tuning information for Japanese tools and even called him up so we could figure out how I could get a copy of one of his books and visit his workshop. I highly recommend Inoue's shop and service.
