神明社の特徴
宝暦9年に創建された歴史ある神社です。
天照大神を祀る神聖な場所で心が洗われます。
厚沢部町本町に位置した、地域の信仰の源です。
１２３６.2022.08.17厚沢部の市街地に祀られております。国道227号をセイコーマートのある本町の交差点を曲がってすぐの所に鳥居があるのでわかりやすいです 。ゆる長い階段をあがった先にやや小ぶりな感じのする社殿が鎮座。社殿内の社額には 神明宮 とありますが社名は 神明社 が正解の様であります。大山祇神や稲荷大明神 、水神も祀られ馬頭さんまで祀られておりました。無人の神社さんとなっております。1759年 (宝暦9)年に創建がなされ伊勢の 神宮さん の御分霊を祀られる。
ご祭神：天照大神ご由緒：宝暦9年（1759年）の創建。明和8年（1771年）に再建。明治2年頃に社殿の造営を実施，昭和4年10月に社殿を改築奉遷。昭和21年7月27日に宗教法人となる。同58年8月6日社殿の新築竣工にともない遷座祭を斎行する。総工費1050万円は氏子崇敬者の寄附によるものであった。
神社名からもわかるように天照大神を祀る神社です。宝暦9年(1759)の創建と云われ安永元年(1772)に再建（明和8年(1771)再建とも）されています。
厚沢部町本町にある神明社を訪問。街の丘の上にある大きな神社。神社はトドマツ・エズマツ・イチョウなどの林の中だ。灰色の第1鳥居、コンクリートの参道。すぐ第２鳥居、石段を登ると第3鳥居あり。第4鳥居まで石段は続く。鳥居のある珍しい手水舎がある。奥に赤屋根の社殿がある。左に、大山祇神・稲荷大明神・馬頭観世音菩薩・水神を祀る末社あり。資材庫あり。社務所なし。☆祭神・天照大神(あまてらすおおかみ)
