英国公使ハリー・パークスが宿泊地。パークス（1828～85年）は幕末から明治初期にかけて１８年間、駐日英国公使を務めました。また大坂滞在中に大坂城で徳川慶喜と接見し、その人物を高く評価。のちに江戸城を攻撃する西郷隆盛に意見し、これが江戸城無血開城にも影響を与えたといいます。

周辺のオススメ
A nice and peaceful temple located away from the busy part of the city. It's quiet, very clean and well maintained by the groundskeeper.You can also get a goshuin stamp here. A shame the staff was absent when I visited to get one, but the lady who answered was very polite and spoke minimal English. Besides the English barrier, I'd come visit Shoboji temple again when they're present if I ever visit Osaka again.
