It is a little pricey for such a short experience but the hosts were great at explaining the ceremony and significance of the actions. You get up to 7 people in your shared ceremony. Sit closest to the tea utensils to be in the place of honor and get served tea during the ceremony. Google did a good job of navigating me here and it is off a street with a lot of cool shops.

We were lucky and we're able to get in without reservations after about a one hour wait. For 2,000 yen, it's definitely worth the experience. The staff spoke English with surprising excellence.They also seemed to take a keen interest in each person sharing the experience. (I mentioned being in Japan to celebrate and was caught off guard when I was asked what I'm celebrating... and then I didn't know if sharing that I'm nearly cancer-free was appropriate at the time... Foot in mouth, my fault).A *lot* of information was shared but it was easy to digest. It wasn't just informational, it was a whole lot of fun.Finding the place is a little bit difficult (small sign in an alley), but it's set back to ensure a quiet and tranquil experience. There's even a banner that says something about having an empty mind. Despite all of the learning, I walked out feeling refreshed, relaxed, and energized.Worth noting, they sell matcha and they have a list of recommended places to purchase... Just gotta ask.
Wonderful experience. The staff are so friendly, calm, and knowledgeable and speak English well. Very beauiful and relaxing tea ceremony.
