The food is delicious, and beautiful to look at. Akira is fun to watch while he's working on the meal and friendly and interesting once he's finished. The place is small and it truly feels like your in his personal kitchen and he's cooking specifically for you. He's been doing this for 24 years and I can believe it when I taste his food. Truly, this is an experience not to miss if you're in Kyoto.

My favorite restaurant in Kyoto. I’ve been twice. Each time the food was incredible and exactly what I was craving. Recommend the chefs choice. Also Akira the owner is awesome and he speaks decent English so communication was easy. We even talked about philosophy he’ll make you whatever you feel like eating. And I enjoy watching him cook just as much as the food.
Akira is an amazing chef and host! He made me one of the most delicious vegetarian Japanese home cooked meal! A must must try!
