五条ゲストハウス別館 (京都府京都市東山区大和大路小松町ゲストハウス) - 京都・祇園で心地よい宿。

The location is phenomenal. In the middle of the gion, the old town of Kyoto. The house itself is an old traditional Japanese house and looks beautiful. The staff is also very kind and helpful. However I have two things which negatively impacted our trip. One side effect of an old traditional house is the lack of insulation. That causes the inside temperature to be between 6 and 10 degrees which is just unbearable. We had to wear ski clothing just to not freeze. That itself would not be such a big deal if there were proper heating. In most of the house there are just old kerosene heaters which take forever to heat up a room and can't be used for more than an hour without opening the windows due to carbon monoxide build up (which is deadly btw). Most of the windows and doors are not leak proof so cold air can just get in your room. I got sick after the first night because our room had 10 degrees. Another thing I didn't like was the laundry system. I think the use of the washing machine should be free and included in the price. The washing machine itself is also not very good. It just uses the freezing tap water and only takes half an hour. There is a sign on the dryer which says that drying all your clothes costs a fortune. That means that it takes a long time when the dryer is very full. I put like 3 t Shirts and 3 boxer shorts in it and let it run for an hour. The clothes were still wet. Not slightly damp. Wet. It would be very good to replace them and close the gaps on doors and windows to partly solve the temperature indoors. In the current state I would not advice to stay there during winter.

조용한 위치의 전통 목조 건물에서 묵는 경험은 교토 여행을 더 풍성하게 만들어줬어요. 청수사가 가깝고 시내버스와 지하철을 이용하기도 편리한 위치입니다. 동네 골목골목이 다 예뻐서 걷는 즐거움이 있어요. 가까운 편의점도 여러 개 있고 근처 fresco 마트도 24시간 영업합니다.게스트 하우스 분위기도 조용하고 서로 마주칠 일이 많지 않아 편안하게 지냈습니다. 혼자 여행하는 사람이나 2명이서 여행하는 분들께 특히 좋을 것 같아요. 다음에 교토를 방문하면 또 묵고싶은 숙소입니다.

Absolutely love this Airbnb. Located in the quiet neighbourhood of Gion. Walking distance to many quiet valleys and shrines. The room was spacious and the futon was really comfortable. Also love the kitchen which was well stocked and convenient. There’s a local grocery (Happy Rokuhara) nearby that’s within walking distance. The staffs were very helpful and accommodative and gave many good advices on local eats and places to visit. Would love to stay here again if we come back to Kyoto.The only downside - quite a distance to Kawaramachi (if you choose to walk). If you have a lot of luggage, a little distance to lug around your luggage to the nearest train station.

Excelente estancia para quienes busquen un alojamiento tradicional céntrico a un buen precio en Kyoto. Camas de futón muy cómodas, puertas correderas y todo de madera. Sitio muy limpio, ubicado en Gion. Como tradicional que es, el baño es compartido y hace frío. Pero, para el frío en la habitación, te ofrecen mantas eléctricas y estufas. Nuestra habitación daba a un pequeño jardín que aumentaba el encanto. Hemos estado muy a gusto. Repetiríamos.

Very cute guesthouse in Gion. The staff were lovely and really helpful! It was a bit cold (especially in the bathroom) but any place would be in the middle of winter. We stayed in a twin futon room and it was very big and futons were comfortable. Perfect for two travellers!Very walkable to nearby shrines and big shopping areas. It's located right in Gion which means you'll have a great time wandering around and admiring all the beautiful architecture and houses.You can use the kitchen which is well stocked with plates cutlery etc. 711 is right around the corner as well as some other restaurants.Loved having the opportunity to stay in a very authentic house like this and meet some new people.

個室仕様のゲストハウス。古風な日本旅館をそのまま利用。現代的なトイレやシャワー室は地下一階にある。個室はちょっとした鍵がかかるようになっている。部屋が二階だと、夜のトイレは昔風の古い狭い階段を地下まで降りないといけないのはけっこうストレス。銭湯が近いとあるが、歩いてみると意外と距離がある。隣の部屋の話し声はよく聞こえる。大昔の旅館を使っているので、施設は古く狭い。廊下が特に狭い。木の廊下なため歩くとミシミシ音がする。ゲストハウスなので簡単なキッチンはついている。

For young adults and budget traveler, this is a fantastic place to stay. The got you pretty much all things you need and there's one bus station closing by. The only thing is shower and toilets are down at basement n most rooms are at second floor, it won't be too convenient for elders or little kids.

To our surprise our room had bunk beds and not a double one, so check before booking. In any case the guest house has a nice atmosphere, basic but very clean and good position. We went during winter and it was very cold, the room had warm air system, warm blankets. If you are looking for maximum comfort, not your place. The common areas and kitchen are nice, fit the Kyoto vibes. All in all it was a fun adventure, good value for money.

This is a really nice guest house for budget-minded travellers in their twenties. The staff is absolutely fantastic, speaks exceptional English and will provide you with maps and directions.Unlike some other guesthouses that save on bedding, Gojo offers very thick futons (mattresses) that are comfortable to sleep on and do not give you back pain the next morning. The guesthouse is very close to the very popular Kiyomizu-dera temple that is usually crowded with tourists, but less so if you visit it during the opening hours at around six, something that works particularly well if you travel from Europe and get the usual jet lag. The train station is very close and the shopping and going-out centre Shijō-Kawaramachi is only a brief walk away. There is also free tea bags and soluble coffee upstairs, along with a (non-free) washing machine. It might sound like a small thing, but it is nice that Gojo offers these conveniences and does not charge you for basic necessities like warm showers. This is not the case everywhere.All in all, a wholehearted recommendation. Two groups of my friends have stayed at this same guesthouse after me and were all very happy with it. Thank you for the great introduction to Japan. :-)

Der Beginn meines Aufenthaltes im Gojo Guesthouse Annex begann mit einer großen Überraschung, da ich meine Reisedaten durcheinandergebracht hatte und somit einen Tag früher als eigentlich reserviert auftauchte. Dementsprechend war die freundliche Rezeptionistin etwas verwirrt, doch schnell hatten wir den Fehler gefunden. Sie war sehr lieb und hat sofort für mich nach alternativen Unterkünften für diese Nacht gesucht, da ich nun plötzlich in der Hauptreisesaison ohne Zimmer da stand. Da sämtliche Unterkünfte ausgebucht waren, hat sie mir allerdings ein Futon im Schlafsaal des anderen Gojo-Guesthouses organisieren können und ich hatte somit ein Bett für die Nacht. Man bot mir außerdem an, mein Gepäck im Annex zu lassen und nur das Nötigste mit hinüber zu nehmen. Ich wurde dann sogar noch persönlich von einer Mitarbeiterin zum Guesthouse begleitet. Man zeigte sehr viel Mitgefühl an meiner misslichen Lage.|Am nächsten Tag erklärte man mir im Annex sofort das Bussystem Kyotos und ich erhielt eine sehr gute Karte der gesamten Stadt mit allen wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten, die mir auch sofort erklärt wurden. Der ebenfalls sehr nette Rezeptionist gab mir außerdem Tipps für schöne Spazierwege und etwas weniger frequentierte Sehenswürdigkeiten.|Das Annex ist hervorragend gelegen. Direkt in der Nähe gibt es zwei große Supermärkte, ein Postamt und eine Bushaltestelle. Direkt gegenüber der Hauptstraße befindet sich das wunderschöne Altstadtviertel unterhalb des Kiyomizudera-Tempels. Sehr zu empfehlen ist ein Abendspaziergang durch dieses Quartier. Es ist kaum mehr jemand unterwegs und die Laternen geben def Gegend eine gemütliche Atmosphäre. Die Todaji Pagode und die des Kiyomizudera werden angestrahlt und sind einfach wunderschön.|Außerdem befindet sich die Einkaufsstraße Shijo-dori direkt in der Nähe und man kann auch zu Fuß sehr gut Ponto-cho für ein Abendessen erreichen.|Gion liegt einem ebenfalls zu Füßen.|Mein Zimmer war sehr sauber und hatte einen schönen Blick über die Stadt. Eine Klimaanlage schafft gegen die Hitze Kyotos Abhilfe. |Leider gibt es aufgrund von Platzmangel auf dem Stockwerk, auf dem sich die Zimmer befinden nur ein Waschbecken, sodass man zur Toilette zwei Treppen in den Keller gehen muss. Da das Haus schon sehr alt ist, quietschen diese natürlich schon recht stark. Ich persönlich bin davon nie wach geworden, aber jedes mal, wenn ich in den Keller ging, hatte ich Angst, jemanden aufzuwecken.|Die Duschen sind sehr groß und haben einen eigenen Umkleideraum. |Das Haus ist sehr romantisch und absolut authentisch japanisch.
