** Ono Tenmangu Shrine 大野天満宮 This Tenmangu Shrine was established in 1585 to warship Priest Yoshikei. Yoshikei was one of the disciples of Sugawara Michizane who is the symbol of Tenmangu shrines. Yoshikei was born in this village of Ono and believed to be the pottery artist Nonomura Ninsei. In the pricincts of the shrine is a power stone which weighs 110 kg. It used to be a custom that many men who boast their physical strength get together in this shrine for its festival and compete their strength. This is why there is a sumo mound right in the central part of the shrine. This is such a unique feature of this place.
